Opportunities Post 18
Careers Education & Guidance
We want our students to be as well prepared and informed about the world of careers and the labour market as we can.
To help support students, we cover a wide range of topics from managing finances to preparing a CV or UCAS application in personal development and Tutorial sessions. All students are offered the opportunity to attend Higher Education and Apprenticeship events and will also engage in a variety of employer engagement opportunities, work shadowing opportunities and mock interviews. This programme guides students through the range of Post 18 opportunities and students take part in specific workshops to assist in the writing of Personal Statements for University application or applications for jobs and apprenticeships.
The information and links on this page are aimed to help students explore routes and pathways post Year 11, 12 and 13 as well as give up to date information on careers, jobs and training.
Our Connexions Adviser has information about Sixth Form options, courses at college, Apprenticeship opportunities, University prospectus’ and job opportunities. All students are allocated a Connexions appointment each year but if students would like to arrange additional appointments, or if parents would like to accompany students to this meeting, please contact Mr G Cook .
We encourage Year 12 students to visit Universities to help them decide which one is right for them. A list of University Open Days can be found here.
