Suggested Reading list
Dear new Y7 students,
Mrs Eeles and I are very much looking forward to meeting you and your child when they begin their new phase of education in September. The Learning Resource Centre plays a pivotal role in our school - providing support for learning, home learning and especially the love of reading. We take pride in our amazing team of student Library Leaders who support every aspect of this. In the next year your child will have the opportunity to take part in the numerous reading and Literacy events and activities that we run in the Learning Resource Centre from author visits, workshops, poet visits, The Big Read and many competitions.
To promote reading over the summer you will find below a suggested reading list for your child. We would be delighted to receive any book reviews that your child would like to do after. Please send them to email@example.com. The best reviews will be posted on our Twitter page. We will also use the reviews for a display in the Learning Resource Centre in September.
To access the books, I would suggest joining the public library if you aren’t already a member. You can join Hemel library online here: https://www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/services/libraries-and-archives/library-membership/library-membership.aspx
This will allow you to access both e-books and audiobooks via their app BorrowBox while the library is closed.
Looking forward to meeting you soon.
