School Curriculum
Subject Information
We offer every student an intellectual challenge appropriate to their age and ability. We respect the moral values, different religions and cultural backgrounds of the whole school community.
Students are taught in year groups specific to their age, in exceptional circumstances some students will be in a year group different to their chronological age.
Year 7
Students are mainly taught in form groups; these are mixed ability. They are then set in the core subjects. They follow the National Curriculum subjects and Business and Drama.
Year 8 & 9
Students are taught in either mixed ability of set class for all subjects. They follow the same subjects as Year 7.
Year 10 & 11
All students study for Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) qualifications in:

Students continue to take PE.
Year 12 & 13
Our policy is to maintain open access for all. For many this will be the equivalent of three or four advanced A-level subjects. At the end of Year 12 students may transfer to Year 13, go straight into employment or follow a vocational course at a further education college. All Sixth Form students must attend PE, RE and PSHE.
The following subjects are available at Adeyfield or in the local partnership schools: English Literature, Geography, History, Economics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, Drama, Physical Education, Business, Media Studies, Childcare, Psychology, Sport, Drama, Citizenship, Performing Arts, Religious Studies, Music and Music Performance.
Students must take part in community service to support their personal development.
